Sir,
Enclosure 1.
COPY.
C.
6851
Treasury.
17th, February, 1896.
3 FAR 96.
301
I have the honour to forward the Amended
Statements of Assets and Liabilities and of Revenue and
Expenditure for the year 1894.
2. The error of $8,675 over-stated on the
Asset and Receipt sides of the original Statements arose
as follows:-
In calculating the balance of the Money
Order Account, two bills which had been paid to the Crown
Agents on account of this Government were put down as out-
standing and one bill which was outstanding was put down
as paid, thereby rendering the balance brought to credit
of Miscellaneous Receipts, erroneous to the extent of the
amount above-stated.
As regards the Statement of Assets and Lia-
bilities the first two bills were put down as Assets and
the last being omitted accordingly there was an error of
the same amount in the balance.
The Honourable
The Colonial Secretary.
I have,& &C.
(Sd.) A. M. Thomson,
Acting Treasurer.
